Mothering the World: A Retreat for Childfree Women

About the Retreat

Contrary to what society tells us, not having human children invites women into deep inquiry with the act of mothering. For many, foregoing childbearing opens up profound questions about identity, meaning, creativity, aging, community, legacy, freedom, grief, and desire.

Where does our life force want to flow if not into another human life? Who do we want to become? What longs to be nurtured, claimed, and birthed from the depths of our feminine power?

Through Yoga Nidra, meditation, hypnotic journeywork, creative practice, Earth-based ritual, and communal connection, we will cultivate, honor, celebrate, and contact our inner intelligence about mothering the world beyond children.

The Land

We will be gathering at Slippery Rock River Ranch, a 40-acre luxury ranch on the banks of Dolores River.

By October, the entire valley will be alight with golden aspens. Much of the retreat will unfold outdoors and in reverent relationship with the land, including meadow gatherings, outdoor meals beneath the pines, forest wanderings, and mindful time by the river to witness the beauty, impermanence, and ripening of autumn in the San Juan mountains.
